Bad Part of Town marks my 100th song release!
With the release of my album Bad Part of Town I have hit a major milestone as an artist. This release marks my 100th song released on streaming services!
I think this is a feat for any artist. But, as an artist with a disability that continues to kick my ass on a daily basis, this is a really big deal for me. I have fought through so much pain, and with only 1/10th of the energy of a healthy person, to release over 4 hours of music in just 7 years.
My motivation to create has been off the charts this year. Just like my music. Get it? LOL All self deprecating humor aside, I don’t make music to get on the Billboard charts. Wouldn’t it be nice? Hell yeah. Do I fantasize about my music being placed in a movie? Sure, what musician doesn’t dream about stuff like that?
I create because I it’s hardwired inside of me. I do it because I love to pull these songs out of the air and bring them into reality. I am just a vessel for these works and sounds to be realized.
I also create these sonic landscapes to distract myself from the noise around me. Every day I wake up and my first thoughts and sounds are those of aches and pains. Within those first few minutes of waking my thoughts will quickly shift to whatever music or creative project I am working on, while the pain and discomfort don’t go away, I’m able to dim the intensity. At least for a little while.
And, I create music for you. For whomever will listen. For whomever wants to be transported out of this world and taken to one where my sounds create images in your mind.
I feel that Bad Part of Town is some of my best work yet, and I’m really excited to share it with the world. I hope you all enjoy it.
Here is a playlist of my entire discography. All 100 songs. All 4 hours and 5 minutes.
Play it loud.
Peace, love, & music,
Nater
